Staff

Dr. Sharon Rayne graduated from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and co-opened Winter Place Animal Hospital back in June of 1997.  She is the current owner and one of 2 full-time Veterinarians in the practice.  She does the majority of our surgeries and is here seeing appointments 4 days a week!

Katie has been an assistant at Winter Place since October 2003.  She is our Surgery Assistant and Practice Manager.  She has her Bachelors of Science Degree from Salisbury University.  She is here Tuesday thru Friday.  She has shelter dog named Dumpling.

Rachel is our amazing Receptionist!  She has worked at animal hospitals in the area for years and we are lucky to have her as part of our team!  She is here Monday - Thursday.  She will always greet you with a smile!  She has 2 cats, Lilly and Tucker and an older Boxer, Bella.

Tricia is one of our Advanced Assistants.  She has been in the field for over 10 years and has a lot of experience!  She is here Monday - Thursday.  She lives locally with her husband and two boxers, Aria and Jupiter.

Advanced Assistant Mercedes has been with us since February 2020.  She is a full time Advanced Assistant and in house photographer! :)  She has 3 cats, Hodgi, Wednesday and Akasha and has recently developed a love of house plants!

Kelsey has been with us since September of 2021.  She has been a great addition to our Hospital!  You might recognize her from her fun colored hair!  She started as an assistant but has worked her way up to performing more advanced duties.  She has a beloved dog named Ozzy and 4 cats, Raven, Pumpkin, Ivy and Mr. Bean.

Kyle started with us in November of 2022.  He comes from a background in both General Practice and Emergency Medicine.  He is here Monday - Thursday and has been a great addition to our hospital!  He has 2 cats, Penny and Amethyst.

Allison joined us in March of 2023. She graduated from Unity College in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science Wildlife.  She comes with many years of experience in both General Practice and Emergency.  She is here Tuesday - Friday.   She has 2 cats, Vader and Ginny.
